Innovation Showcase: Forward A Social Cause & ESG Goals

Exploring the Power—and Risk—of Generative AI
The event opened with a dynamic lineup of speakers, each sharing a different facet of how AI is shaping our world:
A M Shahruj Rashid kicked off with a compelling talk on how Generative AI is streamlining the startup journey—reducing MVP (Minimum Viable Product) development timelines from months to mere weeks, thus accelerating innovation cycles for founders and builders.
Bryan Carmichael followed with a timely and thought-provoking discussion on how the same AI advancements are amplifying the spread of malinformation, disinformation, and misinformation, posing serious challenges for society, governance, and digital well-being.
Dennis Yap, our founder at AI Seer, took the stage to share our mission: using AI not only to inform but to verify and authenticate—equipping individuals and organizations with tools to challenge and check the rising tide of gratuitous untruths.
Demoing the Future of Truth: Facticity.AI & MSRD
After the talks, we hosted an interactive demo session of AI Seer’s cutting-edge tools, including:
MSRD (Multi-Spectral Reality Detector) – A cutting-edge tool designed to precisely evaluate credibility using subtle physiological cues, patterns, and behavioral signals that distinguish truth-tellers from deceivers. Tailored for rapid, accurate evaluations in scenarios like hiring or high-stakes security screenings, MSRD delivers results in just 3 minutes with an in-lab accuracy of ~83%.
Facticity.AI – Our flagship tool that helps users fact-check information in real-time, empowering responsible browsing and protecting against misinformation in the age of information disorder.
Deep Conversations and Cross-Institutional Insights
The depth of engagement and quality of feedback from the audience reminded us of the value of multi-disciplinary education and the power of cross-institutional collaboration. We were thrilled to host alumni from Princeton University, Harvard University, Yale University, Brown University, Cornell University, Duke University, Stanford University, University of California, Berkeley, and more—many of whom stayed back to continue insightful conversations long after the session ended.
A special thanks goes out to the SMU Institute of Innovation & Entrepreneurship and the Princeton Alumni Association of Singapore for making this event possible. We’re also grateful for the refreshments generously sponsored by the Princeton Alumni Association, which made networking and conversations even more enjoyable.
Why This Work Matters
One of the most poignant moments of the evening came when Dennis Yap shared the origin story of Facticity.AI—born from a personal encounter with an online scam. His experience is a stark reminder: when trust is lost, so is our ability to distinguish truth from falsehood—and with that, our sense of agency.
In a world where AGI (Artificial General Intelligence) is no longer science fiction but a nearing reality, the responsibility falls on all of us to build and defend technologies that uphold truth, transparency, and trust.
